Starting point

Got an Idea? We’ll Build Around It

Some clients come to us with a full sketch. Others show up with a vibe, a reference, or a note scribbled in their phone. Wherever you’re starting from, our first job is to listen. We ask questions, offer honest feedback, and help shape the idea into something that flows with your body and holds meaning beyond the moment.

Strategic Design.

Crafted for You — and Only You

Great tattoos aren’t just drawn — they’re designed.

We think about flow, contrast, skin tone, aging, and placement from the very beginning. Every line is deliberate. Every detail has a purpose. From bold, graphic pieces to fine, delicate ones, we build with intention and a deep understanding of the craft.

What you’re seeing here is the stencil stage — the blueprint of your custom piece, tailored specifically for your canvas.

The finished result

Wear Your Story — Beautifully

This isn’t just ink. It’s identity.

At 46 Tattoo, we take pride in creating work that feels authentic to you. When it’s done right, a custom tattoo doesn’t just look good — it fits like it was always supposed to be there.

You’re not walking out with someone else’s design.

You’re walking out with yours.

I came in with a loose idea and left with something way better than I imagined. My artist really listened and turned it into a design that felt personal and intentional. It fits my body perfectly and I’ve already gotten so many compliments."

This was my first custom tattoo, and I was nervous at first — but the team made it easy. They walked me through the whole process, helped refine my idea, and nailed the execution. It feels like it was made just for me.

Start to Finish

How Custom Tattoos Work

Custom tattoos can feel overwhelming — especially if it’s your first time or you’re still figuring out your idea. That’s okay. We’re here to guide you through every step, from the first sketch to the final session.

Share Your Idea

Just send us your tattoo idea — even if it’s rough! From there, we’ll follow up to book your free consultation or you can choose a time directly through our calendar.

Not sure what you want? That’s okay too. We’re here to help guide you toward something that fits your vision and looks great long-term.

Free Consultation

Book a free 15-minute consultation— online or in person (we recommend stopping by to say hi!). We’ll go over your idea, size, placement, and pricing — no pressure to commit. Our goal is to understand your vision, answer your questions, and guide you toward a design that looks great now and for years to come.

We’re here to make the process smooth and stress-free.

Lock In Your Appointment

Once everything’s confirmed, we’ll schedule your session and lock it in with a $100 deposit — which goes toward the final cost. No surprises.

Between now and your appointment, your artist will work with you to fine-tune the design and make sure it feels perfect for tattoo day. Whether you have a clear vision or just a rough concept, our artists know what works and can draw anything needed to make it happen.

Leading Up to Your Appointment

  • Eat well and stay hydrated
  • Moisturize the area for a few days
  • Avoid sunburn, alcohol, and blood thinners
  • Review your appointment details — and reach out with any questions

What Styles Do We Do?

We’re a team of diverse, expert artists—each with their own specialty. Whatever you’re envisioning, we likely have someone who excels at it.

Custom work built with care, creativity, and real collaboration.

Do I get to see the design before my tattoo day?

Yes. After your consult, your artist will begin designing your piece. You’ll see the concept in advance, and we’ll make sure it feels right before your tattoo day.

What if I don’t know what style I want?

That’s totally fine. Part of our job is helping you discover what works best for your idea and body. We’ll talk through options and guide you toward something that makes sense and looks great.

Can I combine multiple ideas into one tattoo?

Definitely. Our artists are skilled at weaving together different elements into a single, cohesive design.

Can you incorporate this tattoo into other tattoos and make it flow?

Absolutely. Whether you're building a sleeve, adding to existing work, or connecting multiple pieces, our artists can design something that flows naturally and looks cohesive. We’ll work with what’s already there and make it feel intentional.

What if I want to make changes to the design?

No problem. Custom tattoos are a collaborative process. You'll have a chance to review the design before your appointment, and we’re happy to make adjustments to ensure it feels just right.

What payments are accepted at the shop?

You can pay your deposit online or in person.

  • Online: We accept credit/debit (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover), Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and PayPal.
  • In-Studio: Cash and card are accepted.

The remaining balance will be settled in-studio at the end of each tattoo session.

Financing Available: We offer flexible financing options — just contact us to learn more.

How much will my tattoo cost?

Tattoo pricing depends on your design, size, placement, and level of detail. For simpler pieces, we may quote a flat rate — for larger or more complex work, we usually charge hourly based on the artist’s rate.

Great tattoos aren’t cheap, and you don’t want to be cheap with your body — cover-ups and removals can be expensive (and not always possible). The best way to get an accurate quote is to chat with one of our artists. Share your idea or come by for a walk-in consultation and we’ll walk through your idea, timeline, and pricing together.
